Quick Getaways in California: Mariah Wilderness Expeditions Offers Wine Tasting and Whitewater Rafting Trips on the American River

Lotus, Calif. —Mariah Wilderness Expeditions, a company that is a leader in offering safe, high quality whitewater rafting since 1982, is offering two-day wine tasting and rafting trips along the South Fork of the American River. At under $300, this trip offers a great all-inclusive value and includes two exhilarating days of rafting the entire 21 miles of river, two nights of camping, five top-notch meals, hors d’oeuvres, and an unforgettable wine tasting.

After spending the day rafting the class II and III + rapids, adventurers relax while a professional guide gives a special presentation of some select El Dorado wines. Visitors snack on delectable hors d’oeuvres while enjoying the great outdoors in a private campsite that no other rafting company shares. Complete with hot showers, comfortable tents, and flush toilets, this experience gives participants a taste of the rugged outdoors without compromising comfort.
Lunches include a variety of deli meats, cheeses, breads, condiments, vegetables, fruit, chips, cookies, lemonade, ice tea, and water. Dinners include mouth watering items like barbequed steak, chicken, and salmon, colorful salad with lots of veggies to add to it, baked potato, garlic bread, soda, water, some wine, and beer. Visitors can play volleyball, horseshoes, ping-pong, take a hike along a scenic Nature Trail, sit by the river, read, relax, and socialize with old and new friends.

As the most popular river in California, California’s South Fork of the American River is a consistent Class II-III+, beginning-level whitewater river.
