Award-Winning Company, Volcanoes Safaris, Announces Two New Itineraries and Launch of New Website

KAMPALA, Uganda—Volcanoes Safaris, a unique great ape ecotourism business specializing in mountain gorilla safaris to Uganda and Rwanda and is announcing two exciting new itineraries to complement the launch of their newly designed website. The first itinerary is a six day Uganda safari which will take visitors to their newly developed Kyambura ecolodge when it opens. This safari includes chimpanzee tracking, gorilla tracking, and game viewing. The second new itinerary is a short gorilla tracking itinerary that gives adventurers the opportunity to go tracking in Bwindi in Uganda while avoiding the long transfer back on the last day by flying in and out of Kigali in Rwanda.

Gorillas and Wildlife Lake Mburo, Bwini, and Qe (6-Day Safari): $3191-$4132 ($313 Single Supplement)
This safari starts with Lake Mburo, which lies in a rain shadow between the great Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Victoria. See buffalo, Burchells zebra, and a variety of deer species including bushbuck, waterbuck, and impala. Bwindi has 4 habituated gorilla families that live on the steep hillsides of the thick tropical forest. Travel north to Queen Elizabeth in the western arm of the Great African Rift Valley, driving via Ishasha to go on the hunt for the tree-climbing lions that lounge nonchalantly in old fig trees. Track the fast moving and elusive chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge and take a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel to see the rich array of wildlife and birds which gather by the waters’ edge. The safari highlights include gorilla tracking in Bwindi and Uganda, a canoe trip on Lake Mburo, a nature walk in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, tree climbing in Ishasha, chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge, and seeing primates, a bat cave, and Blue Lake in Maramagambo Forest. Gorillas in Bwindi and Uganda (4 Day Safari): $2517 Double Occupancy ($232 Single Supplement).
This four day safari starts and finishes in Kigali and can be arranged on a private basis. Seeing some of the last remaining 700 mountain gorillas in the world is a fantastic experience and this safari takes visitors tracking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to see the four habituated families. Travelers can go for nature walks to see indigenous birds, monkeys, and flora and fauna. This safari includes a three night stay at the Volcanoes Safaris Bwindi Lodge. See the breathtaking scenery of the “Switzerland of Africa” as the road winds through hills and valleys with distant views of the volcanoes. Click here for more information.
